CACS (the Capital Area Carcinoid Survivors) made requests of four governors to declare October 2004 as Carcinoid Cancer Month. All four states (DC, Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware) and governors came through. We wish to thank each and every one of them and their staffs.
The following documents (in pdf format) are samples of the requests themselves and of the letter used for publicity.
Please note that the requests of the governors were signed by all of the officers and board members, not just one officer - a practice that we have found to receive a much higher response rate in all of our mailings.
